Storm Imogen batters Port Talbot with 83mph winds

Port Talbot is recovering today after Storm Imogen brought chaos and disruption to the town. Around 300 Port Talbot homes were left without electricity yesterday as winds recorded at 83mph battered the coastline. Rail, roads and the coastline were all affected by the barrage of extreme conditions as local organisations warned people to take care. The speed limit on Baglan Bridge was lowered to 30mph and the M4 was closed for a period between Cardiff and Swansea due to a road accident at Margam, when a lorry was blown over. Meanwhile, Arriva Trains Wales issued a statement on social media reading “Severe weather is affecting some services today. Please check your journey before travelling and take extra care”.
