Aberavon’s rugby Wizardry can spell success

Being on the periphery of top spot is a never ending quest to upstage the leaders and now the title is in the Talbot Athletic team’s hands and theirs to lose. The weekend’s trip to Newport is one where the team should thrive under the expectancy and hopefully add to their points tally. The aim must be to go to Llandovery on March 5th with form, a points gap and most importantly, confidence. Never mind the Cup defeat is my view and one that will be shared If the lost matches allow the team to recuperate for the league campaign. Much like Ireland did to Wales, kicking is likely to be a big part o...

Port Talbot Town v Carmarthen Town (Match Preview)

Rectifying the 3-0 home defeat to Carmarthen Town will be the aim for Port Talbot Town when the teams face each other on Friday evening at Victoria Road. They went into the Carmarthen game off the back of a four-match win-less streak however and current form albeit with a loss last weekend suggests that they are better equipped to snare the points on Saturday. In between then and now they did draw 0-0 with the West Wales outfit in Carmarthen but now Andy Dyer’s men will want to get the 3 points in front of the Port Talbot ultras. Know your opponent Carmarthen are two places better off than the blues, sitting in eighth position and come into this match in indifferent form. Their last league win came in a 2-1 victory at Aberystwyth Town on 29 December, before which was their win aga...

The speed limit on Baglan Bridge was lowered to 30mph and the M4 was closed for a period between Cardiff and Swansea due to a road accident at Margam, when a lorry was blown over. Meanwhile, Arriva Trains Wales issued a statement on social media reading “Severe weather is affecting some services today. Please check your journey before travelling and take extra care”.
