The souvenir booklets, published by the Magnet and printed in Port Talbot, feature the full programme for this weekend’s Memory events as well as an exclusive range of photos of The Passion itself – and people have been snapping them up and coming back for more.

“We knew the programmes would be popular, given the way The Passion brought tens of thousands on to the streets last Easter,” said Magnet volunteer Mike Witchell.

“People are really looking forward to the weekend’s Memory events, and to Michael Sheen’s appearance in the Aberafan centre on Sunday, and they also want something to remember last year by.”

“I picked up my programme today, and I am very pleased to see my contributions so well presented. Thank you,” Anne Lewis wrote in a posting on Magnet’s Facebook wall.

Also making their presence felt in the shopping centre are National Theatre Wales, who are busy accepting entries for the special exhibition of artwork, props and other memorabilia they are mounting there.

And with a book signing session at Port Talbot Library on Saturday by Owen Sheers, who wrote The Gospel of Us, the novel of The Passion story,  the world premiere of the movie at the Apollo cinema and other venues on Sunday and more, there is plenty to look forward to.

“We will be handing out the programmes every day up to and including Sunday,” said Mike. “But people should hurry if they want one – they are flying off the shelves.”

People can order copies of the programme via the Magnet website.
