BRYNCOCH 15, TAIBACH 32
Saturday’s bonus point win of 15-32 away to Bryncoch, keep Taibach in second position in Division Three South West, eight points clear of Seven Sisters.
Centre Aaron Jones kicked an early penalty, and within minutes, the lead was increased to ten points when a lineout led to a drive for the try line, and prop Dan White was credited with a try. Aaron Jones converted.On the quarter, Bryncoch responded when a chip ahead over the try line allowed captain and centre Craig Thomas to dive on the ball to score. He also converted for a score of 7-10.
Five minutes later came Taibach’s second try. Mike McSweeney picked up a loose ball, broke away before passing to wing Tom Powell who sprinted away to score, with Aaron Jones converting.
Craig Thomas and Aaron Jones then swapped penalties, and on halftime Craig Thomas crossed for his second try for a Taibach lead of 15-20.
The lead was increased after a forward drive which saw number eight Matthew Saker score a try, and another appeared to follow, but hooker Tony Millington was denied the try, and deemed to be held up.
Late in the half, Taibach took play into the Bryncoch twenty two, and a pushover scrum allowed number eight Matthew Saker to touchdown for his second try, which Aaron Jones converted for the 15-32 win.
